FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Cutzilla blades different from standard utility blades?

Cutzilla blades are specifically engineered for the automotive styling industry. Unlike mass-produced carbon steel blades, we use high-grade Korean-spec SK2 steel. Our blades feature a 30° acute angle for better visibility and undergo a 3-stage grinding process, allowing for "kiss-cutting" (cutting the film without damaging the paint) with minimal pressure.

What is the difference between the Silver (Alpha) and Black (PPF) Series?

Silver Series: Features a polished high-carbon surface to minimize friction. It is the ultimate choice for dry applications, such as vinyl wrapping and intricate detailing. Black Series: Undergoes high-temperature hardening and an advanced oxidation process. This creates a rust-resistant barrier, making it perfect for "wet" applications like PPF (Paint Protection Film) and window tinting.

What is SK2 Steel and why is it important?

SK2 is a premium high-carbon Japanese steel standard utilized in our Korean production line. It offers a superior hardness (58–60 HRC) and toughness compared to standard SK5 or carbon steel. This means the blade stays sharper for longer, even when cutting through tough TPU (PPF) materials.

Are Cutzilla blades compatible with other knives?

Yes. Our 9mm snap-off blades are designed to fit most standard professional 30° cutters on the market. However, for the best experience and most stable "zero-play" performance, we recommend using them with the Cutzilla Stainless Precision Knife.

Can I use Cutzilla blades for "kiss-cutting"?

Absolutely. Thanks to our 3-stage grinding technology, the edge is exceptionally sharp and smooth. This allows installers to apply minimal pressure, cutting only the film layer while keeping the underlying vehicle surface safe.

How often should I snap off a segment?

For critical areas like bumpers, mirrors, or roof edges, we recommend snapping a segment before every major cut. A "Beast" of a result requires a fresh, surgical edge.
